Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, can you believe that 20 years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy! What a joy you have been to me and your family! So, here's the scoop. I am a bad mom…I did not get anything sent for you. I am so overwhelmed with school, gpa, Tiffany's school, dad needing my attention and Ryan who is still having issues (think he needs to up his meds). Anyhow, we put in $100 in your account. You can buy yourself a present, or save it or when you get home. We really don't care. Just know that you are a treasure to us! I am so sorry that I have been so busy. I have forgotten to write and have done a horrible job at sending boxes. I will have to make sure that your Christmas box is the BEST! Did you send your Christmas tree home last year? I can't remember and I don't remember seeing it when we cleaned out the storage room. If you gave it away, I will need to know so that I can get you a new tree. :)
Had a pretty good week this week. In clinical, I didn't get my rear end chewed out…that is pretty good! I volunteered to participate in what they call a sim lab. Basically, I was a patient for the class behind us. I was killed by all 4 groups. Sad huh? ha,ha. It was actually a lot of fun. I was sad that I didn't get to have blood and gore painted on me. All they did was put a bandage on my back and my hip (not one of the groups assesssed those…ha,ha). Here is a picture of our group….(the volunteers)
Take a look at this makeup job!
It was so much fun! It stressed me out a bit since I had a test the next day. We started about 8 am and ended around noon. They have another one in December. I want to participate. I will make sure I want to have the makeup stuff. :)
My test on Thursday went fairly well. I thought I would get another 85% because I had 10 questions that I just didn't know. I just assumed they would be wrong. Well, I ended up with a 90%. Friday, we had another test. Before we started that, we went over Thursday's test. One of the questions I missed really upset me. I didn't like ANY of the answers. Before I left, I talked to te teacher and complained, so she gave me an extra point. Woo hoo….92% on Thursday's test. Friday's test was a computer "standardized test". You could get level 1, 2 or 3. If you get a level 1 you have to do remediation. Level 2 is normal and level 3 you get 4 extra credit points. Later we found out that NO ONE got a 3, so she gave the extra points to anyone with a 75% or above. I got a 78.6%--so I got extra credit points. WOO HOO!!!
So, for an assignment, we are doing a video. We chose the song "I like big butts". We have changed the lyrics to "I like gait belts". It is what we use to help people who are unsteady to walk. We had to rewrite the words. There were times we were laughing so hard, I ended up in tears. I have to leave around 3:45pm today (miss 15 min of conference :( ) we are meeting to do a video. One of the girls has a brother with a studio. He will help us with the music and the music video. I just wish it wasn't on Sunday, but it is the only day we can all meet. I'll get a copy of it so that you can see it when you get home.
I have enjoyed conference. I really worry about President Monson. During his talk this morning, he go real pale and then seemed to have problems standing. I don't think he will live much longer. I found it interesting listening to Elder Nelson…there was something different about him. I think he knows it is coming (he is next in line to be the prophet). I really enjoyed listening to the new apostles. I could really feel the spirit! I need to listen to Saturday's sessions. Gpa keeps interrupting, so I really had a hard time listening to what was being said.
So, I don't remember if I told you, but Gpa is getting married around Oct. 13th. I had mixed feelings about it, but I don't any more. I am just happy for him to have his own wife and not use me. ha,ha. I am getting real tired of him being here. He will be going to Arizona after Ryan's wedding. I can't wait!
This is the two of them when they were in New Mexico. She kind of reminds me of how Ellen looks….However, she has a very strong testimony of the gospel. They are even talking about going on a trip to visit all of the temples in the U.S.
I guess after conference, gpa asked her if she would like to serve a mission. I guess she started crying and told him YES. It is something that she has longed to do for a long time!
We will be staying home for Thanksgiving, but will be going to Arizona for Christmas. Ryan and Siera will stay here and watch the dogs. I think your dad so excited about going! It should be fun!
Well, I need to get going and listen to conference! Always remember who you are! Mind your p's and q's. Be strictly obedient. Know that I love you beyond measure!
Love ALWAYS!
Mom
P.S. Did you get transferred??? Are you going to be a trainer??
