January 3, 2016

Hey Chris:

How's it going?  I am so sorry that I didn't write last week.  You see, we left on Saturday to return home.  Well, we had issues.  We were travelling on I-40…as soon as we got into New Mexico, it started snowing…BAD!  About an hour or so before Albuquerque, the road became a skating rink.  There were so many cars off the road.  There was a HUGE semi with a HUGE pipe that jack knifed.  At one point, there was a car next to us that all of a sudden spun out and ended up in the "ditch" median.  Talk about SCARY!!!!  The ice was so thick on the road.  Talk about white knuckling it!

We made it to Albuquerque and got into a hotel room.  We left Sunday morning, thinking that it should be just fine.  By the time we made it to Las Vegas (New Mexico), it started snowing so bad that I couldn't see the car in front of me any more. We tried to get off but the road was too rural, so we got right back on the freeway. We got off later and had breakfast.  We then decided to stay another night.  We got lucky and were able to find a room.  Unfortunately, their stupid internet was out!!!!  I have to say it pissed me off!!!!  I think I am addicted to the internet.

We left Monday morning and made it home.  It was a pain in the rear end!  Talk about a LONG LONG LONG stressful trip!  Then we got home and Ryan and Siera had TRASHED the house getting ready to leave.  They procrastinated getting ready, so the whole house was loaded with their crap!  They got all of their stuff loaded and left Tuesday morning.  They left behind empty boxes and TRASH!  They made it to Idaho…woo hoo!  We have a house to ourselves---until Tuesday or Wednesday.  Gpa and Mary are coming Tuesday and staying for about a week…hopefully not more!

Monday, I start a class called "Clinical Decisions".  It is a week long class, Monday through Friday 8:30 - 5.  I hope it is a good class.  It is the last elective for my bachelors.  Then next week, I am taking an NCLEX (RN test) review class.  Then, I have 2 on-line classes.  I just wish I didn't have to deal with gpa!  I know that sounds bad, but it's the truth.

We are now having church at 11:00.  I LOVE 11:00 church!  So, Caden Nixon came home.  He told a couple of mission stories and bore his testmony.  I guess he got home 2 days ago and was leaving tonight to go to school.  I think he is going to BYU Idaho.

Anyhow, that is the excitement here at home…ha,ha.  Well, It was GREAT talking to you on Christmas.  How is your new area?  How is your new companion?  So many questions.  :)

Well, I hope you have a GREAT week!  Always remember who you are!  Mind your p's and q's.  Be strictly obedient.  Know that we are all on your side!  We sure love you.

Love, Mom
