Hey there! How's my favorite missionary? I sure hope this letter finds you GREAT! I think I wrote too late last week for you to read it, so I am getting an early start on my letter! FYI...I got onto the missionary.lds.org (or whatever that site is) and it had your username and password saved on the computer. So, I just entered your social security number in there. I hope that is alright. It is not real wise to send it via email. If you still want it sent to you, let me know!
Hopefully you got the message that Ryan's surgery went well!! It has been a tough week for him! One of the side-effects of pain medication is constipation. Well, the poor thing went until Thursday before he finally went. He was MISERABLE! He even resorted to desperate measures! He tried LOTS of laxatives (did NOTHING)...he had me put in a suppository--did NOTHING! He even had me give him an enema (I know TMI)...didn't really work.
On Thursday morning, we went to his follow up appointment. Dr told him to stop taking the pain pills. I asked for a prescription for something stronger to get his bowels moving...well, we didn't have to use them! He was FINALLY successful! Although, I think he bruised his intestines because he is still feeling pain. I believe it will resolve itself soon. He has not taken any pain pills though.
He starts physical therapy with Chad (across the street's son in law) tomorrow morning. Poor thing! I told him that he will NEED to take a pain pill before he goes. Chad tortures people! ha,ha. I know, because he is currently torturing ME!! ha,ha.
So, Rita (across the street) is in the hospital. A few weeks ago (in fact the same day that I had surgery on my ankle) she had surgery where they removed about 18 inches of her colon/intestines. She has crohn's disease and sometimes, this is the only way they can get relief. Well, she has ended up with complications and she is back in the hospital. She is receiving all of her nutrition through an IV, she has several drainage tubes and is in a lot of pain. She ended up with a major infection in several areas of her abdomen. Anyhow, I am sure she would appreciate prayers for her!
Aunt Cindy came to visit last weekend. Can't remember if I told you. It was nice having her visit...it was sad because I was so busy with Ryan that I really didn't get a chance to spend a lot of time with her. I guess that is life!
Oh ya...Ellen was in the hospital on Thursday and went home Saturday. She went to the orthopedic to get shots in her knees (not sure exactly what kind). So, she was called back to the room, and grandpa stayed in the waiting room since she doesn't like him to come in with her. When the nurse came into the room a little bit later, she was passed out. She came too when the paramedics arrived, however, she couldn't talk. They don't know what happened, possibly a seizure. So she went to the hospital in the ambulance and they ran a bunch of tests, but they found nothing. Such excitement huh?
Well, I am so proud of you! Always remember who you are! Mind your p's and q's. Play as hard as you work. Enjoy the time you have serving the Lord. Be STRICTLY obedient! Know that I am always praying for your success and that I love you beyond measure!
Love ALWAYS!
Mom
P.S. What do you want for Christmas??? start thinking so that you can give me a "wish list" :)
