Hey Sweetie!
How's it going?  I hope all is going well for you!  How are you liking being a District Leader--or should I say Relief Society President (ha,ha).  Have you figured out where to pick up packages if I send you one?  Also, is there anything you would like/need for Christmas?  We have gotten our Christmas list from Dad's side of the family...we have to give to Becky's family...I have NO clue what to get for them.  Sometimes, I wish we didn't have to do it.  Oh well...if you have any suggestions...

So, this week, we had a lot going on, that seems to be the norm anymore.  On Monday, we went to Brother Leftwich's retirement ceremony/reception.  It was nice.  Surprisingly, the cake turned out nice.  I think it tasted better than it looked.  They had a lunch afterwards, Ryan said it was good, however, it did not settle in my tummy.  It was BBQ.  When we arrived at the ceremony it was 61 degrees outside.  When we left (only 1 1/2 hours later) it was 30 degrees and continued to DROP!  It got COLD!!!

Tuesday, I took Tiffany to see Dr. Owen.  She has been having a real hard time lately!  Her grades are dropping, she is trying to hibernate in her room all the time, she is displaying compulsive behavior--she has been picking at her face and body real bad.  Not just "popping zits" but digging into her face and creating big sores.  She got a small scratch on her arm and she hasn't been able to leave it alone!  Dr. Owen says that she is depressed, anxious and a little OCD.  She thinks we should start with counseling.  She goes on Thursday.  I found a lady who is LDS and on our insurance!  Cool stuff!

In the mean time, the temperature continued to PLUMMET!  We were in the single digits most of the week.  At night it got WAY DOWN!  One night it was -14 degrees (that does NOT include the wind chill).  It has been a little too cold for me even!

Thursday, we went to Ryan's knee doctor.  He is healing very nicely.  Dr said that he can have his brace off at home, but should wear it when he is in crowded places.  At therapy, Chad continues to torture him..ha,ha.  He is able to bend his knee to 133 degrees from straight (which is awesome)...he is able to straighten it on his own to about 1 degree, however, when they push on it (it really hurts him...ha,ha) he can get it to 0 degrees.  They say that the hardest part of recovering from this surgery is straightening his knee.  He is still limping, but getting MUCH better!

Thursday night, Tiffany decided that she wanted to make some cookies.  We did not have any butter flavored shortening, so she decided to run to the store.  She tried to come home by leaving King Soopers by way of Lexington.  She got a bit turned around.  She freaked out when she passed Rampart.  She turned around and headed back.  She passed King Soopers and didn't see it.  She was so frustrated and lost.  She made it to Rangewood, but still had no clue where she was.  She looked both ways and then proceeded to cross the street.  She made it past 3 lanes and 2 turn lanes.  In the 4th and final lane, a lady ran into her.  She was hit on the passenger side at the door.  Tiffany is FINE!!!  Dora has no side mirror and we had to bend the door and screw it closed.  The front side passenger door is now unable to be used.  Rick said that it is still safe to drive.  Back to the "event"...Tiffany ended up getting a ticket for "failing to yield".  She is very shaken up about it.  It has also exacerbated her depression and anxieties.  So, extra prayers would be appreciated!  Did I tell you that physically she is NOT HURT!!!  Interestingly enough, you letter to her came on the same day!  Thank you for sending that to her!

Dad said to tell you that he tried to write a letter and Tiffany's computer ate it...ha,ha.  He said that it just disappeared.  He said it may have sent (it would have been from my email address).  Just FYI.

Ryan's homecoming is next Sunday.  Tiffany will be speaking as well.  They (Ryan and TT) will be singing a duet also.  I will record it and put it on a CD if you are able to listen to it...Just let me know.  If not, I will still record it and you can hear it when you get home.

Oh...my ankle is healing well.  I still do not care for physical therapy...it still hurts, but I am getting significantly better!

So, since I have had such bad news, I have some uplifting news to share with you....First off, Saturday was the Relief Society Christmas Party (the only time they could get the building).  They had a dinner and a program.  I sang in a trio.  My anxieties were pretty high, but I DID IT!!!!  I don't remember the last time I sang in front of people!  Then lately, I have been attending ALL of my meetings! Today in Relief Society, we had a lesson on prayer given by Sister Nader.  I actually felt the Spirit!  It was WONDERFUL...I don't remember feeling anything but anxieties in Relief Society!  I think that I am FINALLY healing!  I thought that you would appreciate hearing that!  I feel as though I am finally beginning to connect with some people in our ward--yes, miracles still happen!  I am so grateful that my prayers really are being answered!!!  I have to say that this journey has not been easy and I think there are some hills that still need to be climbed. However, the Lord has ALWAYS been with me.  I think He wanted me to understand that with HIM, all things are possible and I need to accept HIS timetable!

Well, I am so proud of you!  Always remember who you are!  Mind your p's and q's.  Be strictly obedient.  Play as hard as you work.  Know that I love you beyond measure, and I am praying for you all the time!

Love, Mom
