How's it going?? I hope all is going well for you!!! I sent you a package (being mailed on Monday) to your apartment. I hope that is alright. You didn't specify where to mail it to. Tiffany and I had fun shopping for you. I am sure you will notice Tiffany's portion. :)
It has been a very LONG week!!! Not gonna lie…I had a test, only got an 86%. It's alright…at least I passed, right? We have had so much stress here that my brain basically quit functioning. I guess I should explain huh?
So, you know the guy that Dad manages, Chris? Well, he has been severely depressed and really has not been doing his work. In the past he has always been able to manipulate you dad into doing things for him…or basically, manipulating to get his way. I was assigned to read this story called "Downing a duck". Basically it is about a prison guard who was manipulated by an inmate---very slowly, like the way Satan does. It gets to the point that the inmate wants the guard to help him to escape. When the guard wakes up and says no…the inmate gets real ANGRY! He threatens him…eventually, the guard gives in, and the inmate is able to break out. After killing 3 more people, he gets caught. However, he also has to testify in court about the guard. The guard ends up in prison. (that's the real short version). Anyhow, I had your dad read this story and he saw the parallels. It sort of worried him. So, when he went in to do the annual review paperwork, Chris wanted to be able to see what Dad had written so that he could argue and manipulate it so that he would get better scores. Well, dad basically told him NO. Chris was very upset…and got quite angry with your dad. The next day, Chris talked to dad for 30 + minutes on how ANGRY he was at dad. Since having his depression…he had mentioned to dad that he was worried about what he would do if he lost his temper--remember, this guy is not wired correctly at this point. So, him being angry freaked your dad out. He even had me teach him some of the escape maneuvers that I learned at the state hospital. Dad's biggest worry is that Chris is a gun collector, and likes to shoot. Long story short, your dad started obsessing over it all. He could not sleep, every moment was focused on the situation and how to resolve it.
I talked dad into going in and telling his manager and his boss (Michael and Rob) that he would NO longer manage Chris. Lucky for Dad, I think those 2 want Chris gone. The only reason he was still working was because your dad had not given up hope on him. (when in reality, he has been manipulated for quite some time). I have not really seen your dad so upset about stuff. I had several people put dad's name in the temple (Our temple is closed for all of February). I also got the "Schnakenburg Prayer chain" going. So, the outcome--Chris has to take a mandatory 30 days medical leave of absence. It will be fully paid. Then when/if he comes back, he will be put on a performance improvement plan and then most likely fired. But you dad had to reiterate that he would NOT do the improvement plan. Your dad is still stressed out, but doing better each day!
Not sure if I wrote clear enough for you to understand what I wrote…but oh well! When your dad is so stressed out, I get really stressed. I have to say, I was downright worried about him! If he can't let this go in the next couple of weeks, I will insist that he go to counselling. I think he should go already, but he doesn't want to. We will see! Other than that, things have been going pretty good..ha,ha
Here is your weekly "bump" picture :)
She is so cute!! The baby has been really kicking her. She says she feels like her uterus is bruised. She has also been experiencing light contractions, called Braxton Hicks. It is a way for the body to "practice". They are harmless, but can be scary at times. :)
Well, I have several chapters to read still! UGH! I love you and am so proud of you! Keep up the good work!
Love ALWAYS
Mom
