Hey Chris!
How's it going? I hope all is going well! We have had an exciting week! Dad and I left for the week. It was AWESOME! I will share some pictures later. :)
So, we went to Mesa Verde. It was spectacular! It is a national park that has ancient ruins that were built in caves. Oh dear…I will have to start the pictures right away. :) This is the first ruin that we toured, it is called the Spruce Tree House
We then toured the Cliff Palace
We got to hike down to it. It was amazing! We went down stone stairs and up wooden ladders…
Here is our guide…
It made me think of the Book of Mormon….it reminded me of the Gadianton robbers, that "hid in the hills", from the top of the cliff, you cannot see the city below. Here is a picture of dad in front of the Sun Temple
this was inside
While driving in the part, it was luscious GREEN! then we turned a corner and saw a forest of DEAD trees…it was FREAKY!
We did a lot of hiking, it was GREAT. I really enjoyed spending time with your dad…There were consequences though…
Yep, got sunburned…OUCH!
Then we ended up going down to Durango…we actually didn't stay in Durango though, we went through it and drove up to Silverton. It was a BEAUTIFUL drive. We decided to tour a Gold Mine…it was alright, not wonderful…
What was WONDERFUL, was the view….
The pictures don't do it justice! We walked around Silverton for a bit…I was not real impressed with that either…it was a bit run down..
We ended up going back to our hotel…only to find that it was a resort! Nice, huh? Anyhow, we decided to take the ski lift up to the top of the mountain and hike down…it was phenomenal!
It was such a nice time…I enjoyed being with just your dad. It was like I could breathe again. At times, it gets very overwhelming with gpa and Ryan. It has been very diffficult…the two are like two peas in a pod, both are so touchy and grumpy.
I do think that Ryan is finally on a medication that may be helping…but you never know. Gpa has had a rough time…he is lonely, and depressed. He looks at the stupid online dating cites. He sees that the women who are his age are very active…they like hiking, walking, riding bikes, etc…he can't do that, then he sees that many are highly educated and feels as though he is stupid. I wish he would just be ok with himself. It makes me sad. I hope he can figure things out. It makes me sad!
I am hoping things will be better for Ryan soon. Especially since Siera is coming home tonight. I am still praying that he passes the class he is taking.
I also worry about Tiffany. She is doing alright emotionally. She has been wasting a lot of time with a friend who graduated from high school this last year. I don't have a problem with the friend, just the time…she has been doing "role playing" literally every minute of the day! She is supposed to be in the AP art class and she is supposed to have 4 pieces of art completed before school starts…needless to say, she really hasn't done anything… So frustrating!
We got a new bishop today…yep, Bishop Page was released! Bishop Alvey is our new bishop. You probably don't know him, since he has been serving in the singles ward. Brother Garret is the 1st councilor with Brother Mitchell as 2nd councilor! I don't know what to think about the Bishop, since I don't know him… Oh well…I guess I will adjust :)
Well, here are your Danny pictures, he is officially 3 months old…
He is so adorable!!!
Well, I hope to have an uplifting report for you next week! I sure love you!
Be strictly obedient, mind your p's and q's…Always remember who you are!
Most importantly, know that I love you beyond measure!
Love, Mom
