Hey Sweetie!
How's it going! I was going to write last night, but Ryan called and he did NOT want to get off the phone. I think he was just missing us. ha,ha. So, I decided to wait to write until today!
So, interesting thing…we had our Ward Conference yesterday…I guess the push from the first presidency is
1. (Can't remember this one)..that is bad! ha,ha
2. Missionary Work
3. Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy
Our Ward Conference concentrated on the 3rd. It was interesting that President Woodward said that the best way to increase a person's faith is by keeping the Sabbath Day Holy! It was interesting that they did not go through the "do's and don’t's". The main message is to do things that will help you to "delight" in the sabbath. They warned us to not be as the Jews---service is so importants, even when it includes heavy labor doing that service. It gave me a new insight into the Sabbath Day. You know--I have really been struggling when it comes to church. I do not enjoy going to church at all. So, these lessons hit me a bit. I need to be more faithful when it comes to the sabbath. I am hoping this will help me. We shall see!
After church, I talked to Pres. Woodward for a bit. We talked about you coming home. He said that the church is coming out with something called "myplan". I guess it is an 8 module program where you would do the first module before your mission, one half way through your mission, and then the last 6 you would do one each week during the last 6 weeks of your mission. Unfortunately, it is not out yet. But it is to help you transition when you come home--setting new goals, etc. Anyhow, Pres. Woodward said that some mission presidents have the program. Not sure if yours does. He said if yours doesn't, when you are released, he will talk to you about it. I was actually very excited about it--I have always thought the church should have a "Post Missionary Training Center" so, maybe this will be the next best thing.
Last week, I worked on Wednesday and Friday. I really enjoyed Wednesday--training with that nurse was awesome. I think I learned more from him than anyone else. The only think I need to do is actually change the trach. It is supposed to be done every 2 weeks. So I am hoping to be able to see that this week and then I can take on my own shift. It is still a little scary. When I am done with this letter, I will go get my next check…it is an interesting feeling to actually earn a pay check.
Your Sister is half way through her pregnancy…20 weeks. Isn't she beautiful!?!
Here is the post that Jessica wrote on FB…
Happy 10 month birthday Danny Boy!
This month you learned to pull yourself to standing next to furniture! It's so funny watching your little body work so hard to get up and you even use your mouth to help grip the furniture. When you finally stand your grin is ADORABLE! You enjoy talking to yourself in your crib and in the car. When you get excited you shout out cute combinations of Da, Bla, Bad, gah, and Dad! When you don't feel good you whine " meh mah mama muh." We love having you in our family and we're excited for you to be a big brother. Even though you're turning 1 soon, you'll always be my teeny little 5lb baby.
Love, mommy
